Job Description:

The State of Rhode Island Internship Program 2024 provides students and recent graduates with a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various state government departments. This program is designed to offer interns a meaningful and educational experience, allowing them to contribute to public service projects while developing professional skills and understanding the operations of state government.

  • Assist in conducting research, data collection, and analysis.
  • Support the development and execution of departmental projects and initiatives.
  • Participate in team meetings and provide input and feedback on various topics.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and document preparation.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on interdepartmental tasks and projects.
  • Attend training sessions, workshops, and other educational events as required.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an accredited college or university.
  • Pursuing or holding a degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Business, Communications, Environmental Studies, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Demonstrated interest in public service and government operations.

Experience:

  • Previous internship or volunteer experience in a governmental or non-profit organization is preferred.
  • Experience in research, data analysis, or project management is an asset.

Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
