Job Description
The State of North Carolina is offering a comprehensive internship program for 2024, designed to provide students with practical experience in state government operations. Interns will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals in various state departments, contributing to meaningful projects that impact the citizens of North Carolina.
Responsibilities
- Assist with research and analysis on policy issues relevant to the assigned department.
- Participate in project planning and execution, providing support in administrative and logistical tasks.
- Attend and contribute to meetings, workshops, and other departmental events.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and other documents as required.
- Collaborate with team members to develop and implement new initiatives.

Qualifications
- Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university.
- Strong academic record with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Demonstrated interest in public service and state government.
- Ability to commit to the internship duration of 10-12 weeks during summer 2024.
Experience
- Previous internship or volunteer experience in a government or public service setting is preferred but not required.
- Experience in research, data analysis, or project management will be considered an asset.
Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
