Job Description:
Embark on an exciting adventure with the National Park Service Summer Internship Program in 2024. This program offers a unique opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in preserving and protecting our nation’s natural and cultural treasures while working alongside dedicated professionals within the National Park Service.
Responsibilities:
- Assist park rangers and staff in daily operations and activities.
- Participate in conservation and environmental projects within the park.
- Engage in educational outreach programs for park visitors.
- Support research initiatives related to the park’s natural and cultural resources.
- Contribute to the development of interpretive materials and exhibits.
- Assist in the planning and execution of special events and programs.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a college or university program.
- Pursuing a degree in environmental science, natural resource management, history, cultural studies, or a related field.
- Strong academic record.
- Passion for environmental conservation and cultural heritage.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to travel as required.
Experience: Prior experience in outdoor education, environmental science, or historical interpretation is beneficial but not mandatory.
Skills:
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Basic knowledge of environmental and cultural resource conservation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Adaptability and a willingness to learn new skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently.
- Outdoor and recreational skills are a plus.
