Job Description
The Farm Credit Administration (FCA) Internships is seeking candidates for its Business Student Trainee Program, a 10-week summer internship in 2025. This paid internship is designed for undergraduate and graduate students who are currently enrolled in accredited educational institutions. Interns will work under temporary appointments, gaining hands-on experience in areas such as finance, human resources, budgeting, and more. Start dates are expected in June 2025, and work schedules will be full-time or part-time based on the selectee’s academic schedule and office needs.
Responsibilities
The selected interns will work closely with FCA staff on projects relevant to the specific division or office. Duties may include:
- Supporting financial operations within the agency.
- Assisting with professional administrative tasks, including human resources, budgeting, auditing, and contracting.
- Contributing to agency programs based on individual educational background and FCA office needs.
Interns must work a minimum of 15 hours per week, with final schedules discussed and agreed upon after selection.
Qualifications
To be eligible for the Business Student Trainee Program, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- U.S. citizenship.
- Current enrollment at least half-time in an accredited college or university.
- Maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 2.95 on a 4.0 scale.
- Ability to sign a Pathways Internship Program Participant Agreement.
- Males born after December 31, 1959, must be registered for Selective Service.
Experience
Experience requirements vary by academic level. Applicants may qualify based on the following:
- VH-30 (GS-03): Completion of one year of post-high school education.
- VH-31 (GS-04): Completion of two years of post-high school education or an associate’s degree.
- VH-32 (GS-05): Bachelor’s degree or completion of a four-year course of study.
- VH-34 (GS-07): One year of graduate-level education, or completion of a bachelor’s degree with Superior Academic Achievement (top third of class, GPA of 3.0 or higher, or membership in a national honor society).
Skills
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and basic financial principles.
- Ability to adapt to various projects and collaborate with team members.
