Job Description:
The State of Maine Internship Opportunities 2024 program offers students and recent graduates the chance to gain valuable, hands-on experience in various state government departments. Interns will work on important projects that help improve public services and gain insights into the functioning of state government. This program aims to develop professional skills, provide networking opportunities, and offer a deeper understanding of public service.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with research, data collection, and analysis.
- Support the planning and implementation of departmental projects and initiatives.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas and feedback.
- Perform administrative duties such as filing, data entry, and document preparation.
- Collaborate with colleagues on cross-departmental tasks and projects.

Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an accredited college or university.
- Pursuing or holding a degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Business, Communications, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Demonstrated interest in public service and government operations.
Experience:
- Previous internship or volunteer experience in a governmental or non-profit organization is preferred.
- Experience in research, data analysis, or project management is an asset.
Skills:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
