The City of Pearland is pleased to announce the Internship Opportunities in the Human Resources (HR) Department for 2024. This internship offers students and recent graduates a chance to gain hands-on experience in HR functions within a dynamic municipal environment. Interns will contribute to meaningful projects, enhance their professional skills, and support the HR department’s initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with recruitment and selection processes, including job postings, application screenings, and scheduling interviews.
  • Participate in onboarding and orientation programs for new employees.
  • Support the administration of employee benefits programs.
  • Assist in the maintenance and updating of employee records and HR databases.
  • Conduct research and gather data to support HR projects and initiatives.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and documentation related to HR activities.
  • Help organize and coordinate employee training and development programs.
  • Provide support for employee relations and engagement activities.
  • Perform other HR-related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • Ability to commit to a minimum of 10-12 weeks for the internship duration.
  • Must pass a background check and drug screening.
