The City of Pearland is pleased to announce the Internship Opportunities in the Human Resources (HR) Department for 2024. This internship offers students and recent graduates a chance to gain hands-on experience in HR functions within a dynamic municipal environment. Interns will contribute to meaningful projects, enhance their professional skills, and support the HR department’s initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Assist with recruitment and selection processes, including job postings, application screenings, and scheduling interviews.
- Participate in onboarding and orientation programs for new employees.
- Support the administration of employee benefits programs.
- Assist in the maintenance and updating of employee records and HR databases.
- Conduct research and gather data to support HR projects and initiatives.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and documentation related to HR activities.
- Help organize and coordinate employee training and development programs.
- Provide support for employee relations and engagement activities.
- Perform other HR-related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements
- Must be currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of an accredited college or university with a focus on Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

- Ability to commit to a minimum of 10-12 weeks for the internship duration.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
