Job Description:
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is pleased to announce the Internship of Public Affairs Program for 2024. This program offers interns the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in public affairs and contribute to the FTC’s mission of protecting consumers and promoting competition.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in drafting press releases, media advisories, and other communication materials.
- Monitor media coverage and social media channels to track public perception and emerging issues.
- Support the planning and execution of public events, including press conferences, hearings, and outreach activities.
- Conduct research on relevant policy issues, market trends, and regulatory developments.
- Assist in preparing briefing materials and presentations for senior staff and commissioners.
- Provide administrative support to the Public Affairs Office, including scheduling meetings, maintaining databases, and organizing files.

Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in or recent graduate of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Communications, Public Relations, Political Science, Journalism, or a related field.
- Strong interest in public affairs, government relations, or regulatory policy.
- Excellent writing and editing skills, with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and familiarity with social media platforms.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Authorization to work in the United States.

Experience:
