The Department of Corrections (DOC) is excited to announce its Internship Students Program for the year 2024. This program offers students an invaluable opportunity to gain hands-on experience within the criminal justice system and contribute to the DOC’s mission of fostering public safety through the effective management of offenders.

  1. Assist in daily operations within correctional facilities, including inmate supervision and rehabilitation programs.
  2. Contribute to the development and implementation of educational and vocational programs for inmates.
  3. Support DOC staff in administrative tasks, data analysis, and reporting.
  4. Participate in initiatives related to inmate reintegration into society, parole planning, and community outreach.
  5. Collaborate with DOC professionals on special projects aimed at improving correctional processes.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program.
  • Pursuing a degree in criminal justice, social work, psychology, or a related field.
  • Strong academic record and a commitment to the principles of criminal justice.

Experience:

  • Previous coursework or internship experience in criminal justice or related fields is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with correctional systems, rehabilitation programs, or social work is advantageous.
